Eleni Zimiles, MSW, LCSW

Director

Eleni Zimiles, LCSW is a therapist, supervisor and trainer for the Critical Therapy Institute. Eleni works with individuals, couples and groups, rooted in a mosaic of relational, healing-centered practices.

Eleni believes therapy gives us a collaborative space to explore our internal narratives and patterns, to examine how systems impact our stories and sense of self, and to practice courageous intimacy. Outside of her work with CTI, Eleni is a School Mental Health and Equity Specialist for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, consulting with community stakeholders in cultivating dynamic school social-emotional infrastructures.

Eleni is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of Social Work and Touro College Graduate School of Social Welfare. Eleni holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelors of Arts from Macalester College. Grounded in two decades of social justice movement work, Eleni aims to bridge internal healing processes with collective, societal transformation.

Critical Therapy Institute (CTI) focuses on teaching, research and the application of critical therapy in advisory, consulting, and educational services.

Critical Therapy (CT) provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. With a deep commitment to liberation and empowerment, our focus is on transformation.
